Polar bears communicate using a variety of sounds such as growls, roars, and huffs, often to show dominance or to warn off threats. Baby polar bears, known as cubs, are born small and helpless, relying on their mother’s warmth and care for survival during their first years. Polar bears primarily hunt seals by waiting near ice holes, where seals come up for air, using their patience and stealth to catch them.
